Honorary Deputies

The Honorary Deputy Commission is a special recognition by the El Paso County Sheriff, granted to a citizen who has distinguished themselves in the law enforcement and surrounding community through extraordinary deeds or accomplishments which support the mission of the Sheriff's Office. The award of an Honorary Commission by the Sheriff is purely ceremonial. Individuals awarded this honor receive an Honorary Deputy badge and Honorary Deputy Commission Card.

Sheriff John Wesley Anderson initiated the Honorary Deputy Program in 1995. The first Honorary Commissions were awarded in February 1995 to Mr. Junius Parker.
