Cold Case:
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office currently has sixteen cold homicide cases and two missing persons cases with suspicious circumstances. The Cold Case Unit consists of one full-time detective, a reserve detective and two volunteers. JoAnne P. Harris Case: 69-3328 |
Ms. Harris, a 39 year old, was last seen at the Ivy Wild Inn, 1529 S. Nevada Avenue on October 13, 1969. Ms. Harris' body was discovered on November 16, 1969, along the road to NORAD. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was strangulation. |
Jose L. Valenzuela Case: 73-14300 |
Mr. Valenzuela, a 47 year old, was last seen at the Ivy Wild Inn, 1529 South Nevada Avenue on October 25, 1973. He was later found deceased behind the building. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma. |
Francis G. Romisch Case: 75-2264 |
Mr. Romisch, a 19 year old Fort Carson soldier, was found on June 17, 1975 along Highway 115. The autopsy revealed Mr. Romisch had been shot multiple times. |
Cristobal F. Delgado Case: 75-2444 |
On June 23, 1975, two unknown males entered Hoyles Market, 1638 South Nevada Avenue demanding money. Mr. Delgado, a 53 year old, was killed during the robbery. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was as result of a gunshot wound. |

Peggy S. Gaylord Case: 78-6798 |
Ms. Gaylord, an 18 year old, was last seen hitchhiking south on Highway 115, south of Colorado Springs. On December 12, 1978, her body was discovered alongside Barrett Road, west of Highway 115. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma. |
William D. Bennington Case: 82-1516 |
Mr. Bennington, a 26 year old, was last seen on December 23, 1981 in Woodland Park, Colorado. On May 5, 1982, his body was discovered off of Rampart Range Road in El Paso County. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma. |
Percilla (Badial) Bowers Case: 85-2783 |
Ms. Bowers, a 19 year old, was last seen by her family hitchhiking on Highway 85/87 in September 1984. On August 12, 1985, her remains were found in a shallow grave on Pine Oaks Road. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma. |
John Doe Case: 86-4787 |
On November 3, 1986, skeletal remains were discovered in a field in southern El Paso County. Clothing included a bluish-green sweatshirt and size 30/33 Calvin Klein jeans. It was determined the victim was a white male, 30-40 years old, approximately 5’5”. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was a gunshot wound. His identity is still unknown. |
Linda L. Robson Case: 87-2125 |
Ms. Robson, a 27 year old, was last seen leaving the Starlite Lounge in Fountain, Colorado, on December 28, 1986. On May 11, 1987, her body was found in southeastern El Paso County. She may have been killed in her Fountain home. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma. |
Walter Mueller Case: 88-2423 |
Mr. Mueller, a 32 year old, and was last seen leaving work on North Nevada Avenue on March 8, 1988. He left work early not feeling well. On April 11, 1988, his body was found off of Rampart Range Road. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. |
Karen D. Aguilera Case: 88-3053 |
Ms. Aguilera, a 23 year old, was last seen on September 17, 1987. On May 10, 1988, her body was found in a field near Curtis Road and Falcon Highway. The cause of death is undetermined. |
Towana Lewis Case: 88-6053 |
Ms. Lewis, a 17 year old, was last seen on September 8, 1988 at Prospect Lake. On September 11, 1988, her body was discovered in a ditch off of Goldfield Road near the Widefield subdivision. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was asphyxiation. |
Kelly L. Asher Case: 88-6982 |
Ms. Asher, a 27 year old, was last seen October 13, 1988 leaving the DeVille Motel on South Nevada Avenue. On October 18, 1988, her body was discovered lying on the side of Highway 115, south of Colorado Springs. The cause of death is undetermined. |
Jocynda Irwin Case: 90-2993 |
Ms. Irwin, a 24 year old, was last seen on April 18, 1990 by her family. On April 19, 1990, her body was discovered in the vicinity of Rampart Range Road and Loy Gulch Road. The cause of death is undetermined. |
Thomas L. Livingston Case: 94-4553 |
On April 23, 1994, Mr. Livingston, a 35 year old, received a package by mail. When he opened the package it exploded killing him. |
Ricky A. Espinoza Case: 01-7981 |
Mr. Espinoza, a 37 year old, was last seen on June 24, 2001, walking along South Nevada Avenue from East Las Vegas Street. On June 28, 2001, his body was found in a landfill in southeastern El Paso County. The autopsy was unable to determine a cause of death. |

Linda J. Barker Case: 82-1153 |
Ms. Barker, a 29 year old, was last seen on April 7, 1982 leaving her residence, 11340 Goodson Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was driving a white/blue blazer, Colorado license plates UA-6471. Ms. Barker has never been located. |
Bryan D. Ambrose Case: 82-3202 |
Mr. Ambrose, a 23 year old, was last seen on September 8, 1982 leaving the Rainbow Motel, 3709 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado and was going to the Denver Metro area. On September 9, 1982, Mr. Ambrose’s Ford pickup truck was found in Pueblo, Colorado. Investigators learned Mr. Ambrose may have met up with a Carlos Anthony Torres, aka: "Cat." Torres had a tattoo of a black cat on his left shoulder. Mr. Ambrose has never been located. |
